Have you ever walked in the door of a friend’s house and sighed as you sank into a perfectly padded chair? That’s what comfort feels like, and it’s what the team at Bacio in Minnetonka goes to great lengths to create for its guests.

 

We can spend hours at the local mall trying to find the most comfortable sneakers or the perfect pair of jeans. With all of the time and energy we put into shopping, it’s no wonder we often need to take a break to refuel at the food court.

 

The Berset family works hard and plays hard—and they do almost all of it close to Lake Minnetonka. Cindy Berset, with her daughters Kelsey and Ashley, opened The Suburban sports bar in Excelsior in 2014.

 

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in America. That’s something the American Heart Association wants every woman to know. This year, three Lake Minnetonka-area women who have been affected by heart disease are helping spread the word.

Minnetonka resident Matt Swenson’s creativity is sparked when he is presented with a box of junk—yep, junk. An executive coach by day, Swenson wanted an outlet where he could channel his creativity.

 

Once a week, five lake-area guys, all but one in their 50s, get together in Paul Norton’s Deephaven basement to thrash out three-chord anthems with guitars, bass, drums and keyboards, and play rock star.

Amy Brace knows that if there’s one thing people love, it’s sweets. In 2011, Brace started baking cupcakes and other treats out of her home kitchen. Several years later, she decided it was time to expand her business. She opened her storefront bakery this summer.

 

In our August 2014 issue, we featured the story of Minnetonka High School graduate Holly Henry, who found success in a national singing competition. Since then, Henry’s star has kept rising.
